Green is one of the hardest colors to mix and to use.  Not only does this color lean into many others when mixing it, but there is also the difficulty of having a dominant wavelength, making it a hard color for us even to visualize green correctly.

Still, there are greens all around us, especially when we are outside doing plein air painting.  Somehow, we must mix a green that will coordinate with our palette and give the information that we need it to say.

This workshop will address the joys and tribulations of mixing and using green colors.  We will be looking at various ways of creating greens (including one that does not include a blue and yellow!) as well as the best uses for various tones.

Participants in this workshop will be doing color exercises and then working on a painting that will require the use of many greens.
